The Data Senior Principal Consultant will serve as a key liaison between business and technical teams, leveraging expertise in Workday to drive complex intersystem problem-solving. This individual will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.
Key Responsibilities- Workday Expertise: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Workday design, configuration, testing, and implementation methodologies.
- Policy Reinforcement: Effectively communicate and reinforce company policies and procedures to team members and clients.
- Project Direction: Drive tactical direction of project workstreams, identifying dependencies and supporting interplay between different workstreams.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and oversee the work of other Consultants within projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Data Solutions: Design and generate data tracking and monitoring tools, develop reports with accurate and actionable insights, and identify strategies to meet client requirements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate and lead cross-functional discussions related to the execution of a Workday tenant build, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Data Mapping and Conversion: Utilize technical aptitude to map data sources into Workday using Workday delivered and Cognizant built tools for the data conversion process.
- Client Guidance: Guide clients through the data extract and cleansing process, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Data Loading and Validation: Load customer data, migrate configuration from tenant to tenant, identify risks and issues, troubleshoot load issues, and document issues.
- Script Development: Create scripts to transform and load data and develop strategies to improve and normalize client data.
- Data Validation: Lead the validation of data loaded into Workday, working closely with clients to ensure understanding of the data validation process.
- Client Support: Regularly engage and support clients through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to Workday solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate project progress and changes to clients, project teams, and Engagement Managers, while performing multiple tasks under limited direction.
- Leadership and Development: Demonstrate willingness to take a leadership position on projects and act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, providing support for shadow assignments and actively participating in update training and internal opportunities to share skills and learnings.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Workday Certification: Must be certified in Workday.
- Workday Experience: 4+ years of Workday functional implementation experience required.
- Industry Experience: 5 years Human Resources, Payroll, Student, or Financial software experience required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with data conversion, data mining, and data loading.
- Functional Experience: Demonstrated functional experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Student, or Financials Management.
- Travel: Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed.
