Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at the City of Kitchener's Economic Development Department. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with various stakeholders, including venue operators, event organizers, and city staff, to drive revenue growth and enhance the cultural and entertainment scene in our vibrant city.
As a key member of our Culture and Entertainment division, you will be responsible for developing business services that meet the diverse needs of our community. Your expertise in ticketing systems, marketing strategies, and event management will be instrumental in increasing attendance and utilization of our city-owned culture venues.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in negotiating contracts and agreements. If you have a passion for building relationships and driving results, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business services that meet the needs of our community
- Work closely with venue operators, event organizers, and city staff to drive revenue growth
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with various stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts and agreements
- Analyze data to inform business decisions
Requirements:
- 3-year degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., business, marketing, events)
- 4-7 years of experience in business development, marketing, or events management
- Experience working with ticketing systems and software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
