Lead Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an experienced Nurse (RN/RPN) to fill the role of Head Nurse at the Psychiatric Assessment Unit in Vancouver, B.C.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and oversee the supervision of designated staff and team professionals, ensuring effective communication, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Conduct meetings with staff to promote a respectful workplace, address attendance and wellness issues, and provide coaching and performance management.
- Recruit, select, mentor, and retain staff to ensure a high-performing team.
- Oversee all aspects of resident/client care delivery and daily activities of designated programs/areas, ensuring a safe and high-quality environment.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to achieve quality indicators and program goals, promoting interdisciplinary practice and a patient-centered care model.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) is required.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing and/or Bachelors in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Five (5) years recent related experience in an appropriate area of clinical practice within a large complex health organization.
- Strong facilitation, conflict management, and resolution skills, with three (3) years supervisory leadership experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of issues in relevant service areas, including current trends, best practices, and modalities of treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a strong team leader, motivator, coach/mentor, and team member within a complex multidisciplinary setting.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professional confidentiality and provide clinical and administrative supervision and consultation.
