Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Program Attendant to join our team at the City of Medicine Hat. As a Program Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons, while also enhancing their recreational experiences within our Parks & Recreation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Supervision: Oversee a variety of engaging programs, including after-school sessions, summer day camps, and special events.
  • Patron Support: Proactively create a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons, educating them about recreation programs, equipment, and facility services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, fitness, and customer service staff to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, quickly adapting to changes and challenges as they arise.
  • Role Modeling: Act as a role model by promoting health and wellness while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
Requirements
  • Education: Successful completion of Grade 12 or a high school equivalency diploma.
  • Certifications: Current CPR and Standard First Aid certifications.
  • Experience: Experience in recreation programming or day camps is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to handle difficult situations calmly and rationally, positive attitude, excellent communication skills, reliability, dependability, and flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
