Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Grants Coordinator & Knowledge Transfer Specialist. This position will be responsible for editing scientific grants, preparing CVs, and managing the submission of various research-related documents within the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and coordinate research grant and academic proposals, letters of intent, background documentation, research program rationales, and other documents.
  • Assist the research grants administrative functions of the Centre, ensuring effective and efficient administrative functions in support of the Director's office.
  • Collaborate with the HLI Director, Associate Director, and Grants Team members to achieve the goals of the Centre.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent judgement, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative and respectful manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to keyboard at 50 WPM.
  • Demonstrated ability at the senior administrative level and to provide support to Director and/or Operations Director.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize, problem-solve, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and with minimal supervision.
