About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent culinary skills and experience in managing kitchen operations to oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of our menu items. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, be able to work effectively under pressure, and maintain high standards of quality and safety in the kitchen.

This is a permanent full-time position working 35-40 hours per week. The salary for this role is estimated to be around $55,000-$65,000 per year based on industry standards and location.

Key Responsibilities
  • To prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to established recipes and presentation standards;
  • To train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality;
  • To inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety;
  • To order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations;
  • To supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively;
  • To maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen operations;
  • To manage kitchen operations, including organizing buffets and banquets, to meet customer demands and expectations;
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment;
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation styles;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and train kitchen staff;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the kitchen;
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment;
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively;
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and physically demanding conditions. A valid Work Permit and Canadian citizenship or permanent residency are required.
