Job Title: Public Housing Review Officer

Job Summary:

The Public Housing Review Officer will be responsible for reviewing and processing lease agreements, conducting inspections of rental units, and providing support to tenants and landlords. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of housing policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process lease agreements to ensure compliance with housing policies and procedures
  • Conduct inspections of rental units to ensure compliance with housing standards
  • Provide support to tenants and landlords, including responding to inquiries and resolving disputes
  • Investigate allegations of fraud and/or other misrepresentations by tenants
  • Verify evidence and collateral information in regard to lease agreements
  • Prepare accurate records of all interactions with clients
  • Assist in rent arrears notifications and collections
  • Identify arrears, approve and issue Notices of Termination
  • Represent the landlord at the Landlord Tenant Board

Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma (2 year) in Social Services or related Social Sciences
  • Minimum 6-12 months related professional experience
  • Valid Driver's Licence (Class G)

Specialized Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate standard and specialized software systems including YARDI
  • Knowledge of related provincial legislation, policies and procedures
  • Ability to obtain a Criminal Reference Check
