Culinary Team Manager

About the Role
The School Lead is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for managing a team of associates to prepare and serve healthy and flavorful menu selections in a school cafeteria setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement menus and recipes that meet the nutritional and culinary standards of our school food program.
- Lead the preparation and service of food, ensuring high-quality presentation and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including FoodSafe and HACCP standards.
- Train and coach staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor sales volume and adjust production and menu plans to maximize sales and reduce waste.
- Assess tasks and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and output.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager and Senior Management to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Culinary experience and excellence, with a minimum of five years of experience leading high-volume culinary teams.
- ServeSafe and/or FoodSafe certification.
- Red Seal Chef status is an asset.
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driver's abstract is an asset.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle employee and customer concerns with tact.
- Able to use a computer and related software, including POS equipment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and frequent standing and walking.
- Able to work in hot or cold temperatures.
