Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Anatomic Pathologist to join their team at Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, this position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals in the field of laboratory medicine and pathology.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of practice, delivering prompt services that meet established key performance indicators and provincial metrics. As a diagnostic expert, you will be involved in various sites across the Edmonton region and expected to become an active zonal consultant in your area(s) of expertise.
Key responsibilities may include supervising technical staff, overseeing quality assurance programs, participating in on-call requirements, and engaging in clinical consultations with physicians, surgeons, and oncologists. Additionally, you may be required to participate in general surgical pathology practice and maintain a sub-specialty practice.
Requirements- A Medical Doctor (MD) degree with licensure eligibility in Alberta and certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology.
- Fellowship training in Cytopathology is mandatory for this role.
