Job Title: Medical Pathologist - Clinical Expert
">About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Pathologist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Medical Pathologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest possible standards of practice, including prompt delivery of services to meet established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
- Be involved in diagnostic activity across sites in the Edmonton region and become an active zonal consultant in your area(s) of expertise.
- Supervise technical staff, oversee the laboratory quality assurance program, and participate in on-call requirements.
- Provide clinical consultation with physicians, surgeons, and oncologists.
Requirements
- A MD from a recognized institution.
- Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
- Certification in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology.
- Fellowship training in Cytopathology is required for this position.
Compensation and Benefits
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their level of fellowship training and experience. The estimated annual salary for this position is $200,000 - $300,000.
