Job Title: Part Time Intervenor to Support People Who Are Deafblind

About the Role:

We are seeking a Part Time Intervenor to join our team at Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are deafblind, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individuals in their homes and community environments
  • Using communication techniques to relay information
  • Empowering individuals to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living
  • Providing personal care as required
  • Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives
  • Ensuring documentation and records are complete

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or a related human services field
  • Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors
  • Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions
  • Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE)
  • A valid driver's license Class G, access to a reliable vehicle, a clean current driver's abstract, and the ability to obtain automobile insurance with a minimum liability of $2 million
