Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team in Ottawa. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, budget preparation, and financial reporting.

About the Role: The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, preferably with a CPA designation or currently pursuing it. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience working in a high-volume office environment and familiarity with Sage on cloud accounting software are significant assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for senior management and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with ESDC funding and administrative policies and requirements
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve business objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field
  • CPA designation or currently pursuing it
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance, preferably in a mid-level role
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Sage on cloud accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
