Ottawa Operations Manager

The Ottawa Operations Manager is a critical member of the Airport Operations leadership team responsible for ensuring seamless aircraft turn performance, exceptional passenger service experience, and efficient ground handling at Porter's YOW Hub.
This leader is accountable for maintaining consistent execution to defined safety, commercial, operational, passenger service, and employment standards. By identifying and eliminating barriers, they work cross-functionally to reduce station-controllable delays and collaborate with stakeholders outside the organization to ensure team members have the necessary tools, training, processes, and resources to achieve their targets and metrics.
In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture of teamwork and commitment to service and operational reliability throughout YOW. A key focus will be on developing the leadership capabilities of the group's Leads, Supervisors, and Managers. You will also ensure 7-day-per-week, in-station leadership coverage, with management actively engaged in the station operation during peak passenger hours and irregular operations.
You will lead and manage YOW passenger service functions, ensuring team members consistently deliver passenger service to defined standards and achieve aircraft turn performance. Additionally, you will maintain weekly leadership schedules to ensure 7-day-per-week, in-station management coverage during peak passenger times. Your responsibilities will include actively engaging with operations, passenger interactions, and team member coaching at the check-in counter, departure gates, and on the ramp.
Your role will involve managing YOW Central Baggage, ensuring consistent operational coverage and metrics surrounding baggage delivery and mishandled bag processing. You will also manage local administrative support team to handle the station's administrative support needs. Collaborating with Manager, Catering Operations will enable consistent and reliable aircraft turn performance. Furthermore, you will work closely with various departments to proactively manage team member resources and maintain operational reliability.
You will conduct regular operational metric and business reviews with station leaders to maintain operational performance. Regular reviews of station leadership performance, including objective setting and performance evaluation, are also part of your responsibilities. Establishing business cases for necessary investments to reach and sustain operational performance will be another crucial aspect of your role. Collaborating with the Learning and Development department to support the training of YOW team members will also be expected. Developing a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent will be a priority. Finally, you will work with the YOW Airport Authority to remove operational or financial barriers impacting day-to-day operations.
