About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks a skilled Strategic Health Services Manager to lead planning, resourcing, monitoring, and evaluating departmental projects, initiatives, and activities. This role is responsible for ensuring a disciplined approach to planning and implementation, focusing on standardizing provincial services that support patients without a primary care provider.

The successful candidate will be accountable for leading self and overseeing multiple primary health care priorities, strategic change projects, and initiatives. They will facilitate system transformation by developing and implementing strategic and health services plans, goals, and objectives to support zone operations and primary health care priority services.

This position requires collaboration with diverse stakeholders across the organization and beyond to enable and support the delivery of a fully integrated health system across the province. The Manager will provide management and oversight of provincial services supporting patients without a primary care provider, including Primary Care Clinic Optimization.

A key aspect of this role is the quality and safety agenda in primary health care, focusing on continuous quality improvement, safety, and risk management. The Strategic Health Services Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a structure and building a culture that prioritizes these essential components.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline or Master's Degree in a related field such as health administration, business administration, or a related subject;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a senior leadership or management position, preferably in a health-related environment;
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association;
  • Experience in program and service development, implementation, and evaluation required;
  • Certified Health Executive designation an asset;
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) preferred or suitable equivalent of qualification and experience preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning;
  • Proven project management experience and skillful application of population health approaches, community development, health promotion, disease prevention, and management.
Compensation and Benefits

$48.16 - $60.20 Hourly salary; Permanent Fulltime position with 75 hours bi-weekly shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
