Job Summary

The Corporation d'urgences santé is a leading healthcare organization that provides emergency medical services to the community. As an Emergency Medical Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in responding to emergency calls and providing critical care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and sort emergency calls using classification protocols and procedures
  • Work in a highly technological environment to provide emergency care and support to callers
  • Collaborate with paramedics and other emergency partners to respond to emergency situations
  • Assign and direct emergency vehicles to intervention sites and hospitals
  • Participate in the deployment of emergency vehicles to minimize response times

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from a recognized school
  • Postsecondary studies in social work, public safety, psychology, or a related field (an asset)
  • One year of experience in customer service, emergency communications, public safety, or a related field
  • Perfect command of French and English (oral and written)
  • Availability to work full-time, including day, evening, and night shifts

Working Conditions and Compensation

  • Evening, night, and weekend premiums
  • Percentage of salary earned covering statutory holidays and sick leave

A variable salary between $23.37 and $33.78 per hour, depending on recognized experience. The paid training lasts 75 days and is offered mainly during the day. The Corporation d'urgences santé is committed to providing stability to its employees and offers a guarantee of full-time hours for new employees who express full availability beyond the three months following training.
