Emergency Communication Center Dispatcher

The CN Emergency Communication Center Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of CN's vast network and multiple internal departments. As a key member of the CN Police team, this position requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to effectively handle emergency situations.
Main Responsibilities- Provide communication and support services to CN Police staff, utilizing a Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system to receive, prioritize, and process calls.
- Dispatch emergency calls between CN Police and local emergency services, maintaining accurate and up-to-date files and logs for reports.
- Liaise between local emergency services and CN, ensuring timely and accurate communication of information.
- Monitor CN Police Officers' safety and coordinate actions between local emergency services and CN forces.
The role operates on a rotating schedule, with shifts dependent on the operational needs of the CN Emergency Communication Centers (CNECC) 24-hour operation. The incumbent must be available to work weekends and holidays when necessary and be on-call to respond to critical incidents 24/7.
Requirements- Computer-Aided Dispatching experience
- Previous experience in call center operations, radio communications, and customer service
- High School Diploma (required) and English Attestations of Collegial Studies (ACS) in Emergency Dispatch or equivalent certification
- Risk identification and anticipation
- Relationship building and customer support
- Effective communication and decision-making
- Adaptability and stress management
- Knowledge of computer dispatching systems and CPIC Systems
- Excellent typing and computer skills
