Job Summary

The Government of Prince Edward Island is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hospital Administrator to lead the operations of Prince County Hospital. As a key member of the Hospital Services Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the hospital's operations, staff, and volunteers.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans, strategic plans, and goals and objectives that align with the hospital's vision and mission.
  • Manage the hospital's budget, including preparing quarterly forecasts, approving expenditures, and identifying operational efficiencies.
  • Act as a primary spokesperson for the hospital, community, media, government, and non-government agencies.
  • Prepare and present submissions to the Health PEI Executive Team, HPEI Board, Treasury Board, and Cabinet committees.
  • Employ LEAN process improvement and other change management strategies to facilitate quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure emergency services and planning, including developing disaster plans and mock disaster planning.
  • Work closely with the HR division and the PCH HR manager to facilitate HR practices consistent with the organizational values and client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment and Retention Secretariat on the recruitment of hospital staff and physicians.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital administration, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
