About the Role

The Government of Prince Edward Island is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hospital Administrator to lead the operations of Prince County Hospital. As a key member of the Hospital Services Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality health services and overseeing all aspects of hospital management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the hospital's operations, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and goals.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans, strategic plans, and goals and objectives that drive hospital performance and improvement.
  • Manage the hospital's budget, including operating and capital expenditures, and ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and programs that impact the region and province.
  • Collaborate with the HR division and Recruitment and Retention Secretariat to facilitate HR practices and recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure emergency services and planning, including disaster planning and liaison with local agencies.
  • Employ LEAN process improvement and change management strategies to facilitate quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in hospital administration, with a strong background in operations management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build effective teams and partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Financial management skills, with experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of LEAN process improvement and change management strategies.
