Job Summary

The Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Associate to join the Renal Program at Vancouver General Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients under the supervision of attending physicians
  • Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of the program

Requirements

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of two years of postgraduate training in a relevant specialty
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs)
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
