Company Overview:
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is actively looking for an Associate Physician to become part of their General Surgery division at Vancouver General Hospital.
Role Summary:
The Associate Physician (AP) in General Surgery will operate under the guidance of the attending general surgeon, delivering patient care at Vancouver General Hospital. The AP will engage with a multidisciplinary team to guarantee the delivery of superior care to patients undergoing general surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of two years of postgraduate training in a medical or surgical specialty
- Proficiency in the English language
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage prevalent conditions in perioperative general surgery patients
- Conduct general surgical operations
- Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare team members
- Accurately document patient information
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
Assessment and Evaluation Process:
The AP will participate in a 12-week probationary period to evaluate their competencies in the designated specialty areas. The evaluation will encompass fundamental clinical skills, communication abilities, and specialized knowledge relevant to the clinical setting.
Compensation and Benefits:
The AP will receive remuneration in accordance with provincial standards and will be entitled to benefits such as extended health coverage and paid time off.
