At Fraser Health Authority, we are seeking a skilled Healthcare Coordinator to join our team in Surgical Orthopedics at Royal Columbian Hospital.
About the RoleWe offer a competitive salary range of CAD $28.31 - $28.31 per hour for this Relief Full-Time opportunity.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity to support patient care by performing various clerical duties and acting as a communication link for the area.
Key Responsibilities:- Prioritize, process, coordinate, and transcribe physicians' orders by copying information, completing required forms, and distributing information.
- Schedule, book, and coordinate patient appointments by receiving appointment requests, arranging dates and times, and adjusting appointments as required.
- Act as a communication link for the assigned area by contacting other facilities and departments to exchange information regarding bed availability and patient transfers.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts according to established procedures, inputting patient data and transcribing information into applicable systems.
- Answer telephones, transfer calls, take messages, answer routine inquiries, and refer as appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 with medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
