Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Science Engineer to join our team at Manulife. As a Senior Data Science Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering AI/Advanced Analytics solutions in cloud-based production environments to drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of AI/ML solutions in cloud environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions with enterprise applications and business processes, driving business value and growth.
  • Develop and maintain MLOps, DevOps toolchains, and Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing using Jenkins, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to leadership and stakeholders on data and AI/ML solution design and standard methodologies, driving innovation and adoption.
  • Present findings, share insights, and make recommendations that impact sales, communicating results in written, oral, and presentation formats.
  • Innovate ways to source and use data to support modeling efforts, applying structured and unstructured data, and big data technologies.
  • Work with distributed teams to identify and prioritize practical, high-impact insights across various core business areas, driving business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, etc.).
  • Advanced experience with PowerBI, Salesforce, MLFlow, GitHub (ideally with co-pilot).
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, AzureML, Databricks), containerization, and analytics libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, matplotlib).
  • Experience with developing APIs or web application development.
  • Strong sense of ownership and superb problem-solving capability.

  • Strong business acumen and finance knowledge, experienced in wealth asset management/finance.
