Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Engineer to join our team at Manulife Insurance Malaysia. As a Senior Data Science Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering AI/Advanced Analytics solutions in cloud-based production environments to drive business value and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions in a cloud environment to drive business outcomes.
  • Integrate AI/ML solutions with enterprise applications and business processes to enhance decision-making.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on data and AI/ML solution design and standard methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize practical, high-impact insights across various business areas.
  • Develop and maintain MLOps, DevOps toolchain, and Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing using Jenkins.
  • Present findings, share insights, and make recommendations that impact sales and business growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, etc.).
  • Advanced experience with PowerBI, Salesforce, MLFlow, GitHub (ideally with co-pilot).
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g. Spark), cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, AzureML, Databricks), containerization, and analytics libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy, matplotlib).
  • Strong business acumen and finance knowledge, experienced in wealth asset management/finance.
  • Strong sense of ownership and superb problem-solving capability.
