About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures on Azure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Data Modeling: Design and implement data models for operational and analytical reporting.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate code deployment.
  • Cloud Migration: Lead data migration from on-premises to cloud environments, ensuring solutions adhere to OTIP's architecture standards.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead junior data engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and technology partners, to deliver data architecture and solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a data engineer in Azure data platform.
  • Skills: Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Logic Apps; solid understanding of relational databases, data manipulation, data storage, and data modeling; experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools, such as Power BI; and strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and Spark.
  • Certifications: Azure certifications are an asset.
