Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines in Azure cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Design and Development
    • Design and implement data models for operational and analytical reporting
    • Develop and orchestrate pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Cloud Data Migration
    • Lead data migration from on-premises to cloud, ensuring solutions adhere to OTIP architecture
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead and mentor junior data engineers
    • Collaborate with various teams and partners within the organization
  • Compliance and Security
    • Ensure data pipelines run within SLA and maintain robustness and security
    • Support compliance with data stewardship standards and data security procedures
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or similar discipline
    • 5+ years of experience working as a data engineer in Azure data platform
  • Technical Skills
    • Hands-on experience in developing and orchestrating pipelines using ADF
    • Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, Spark
    • Knowledge or experience in Azure DevOps, ADO, and Azure Databricks is an asset
  • Soft Skills
    • Highly analytical individual with advanced problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
