Estimated Salary: $58,000-$68,000 per yearJob Description

We are looking for an experienced social worker to provide high-quality community development services to our clients. As a Social Work Specialist - Community Development, you will work closely with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to develop and implement programs that address the unique needs of Indigenous peoples.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing community-based programs that promote social justice, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment;
  • Providing individual and group counseling services to clients, including crisis intervention and support;
  • Collaborating with community partners to identify and address systemic barriers and inequalities;
  • Conducting research and analyzing data to inform program development and evaluation;
  • Building relationships with local government agencies, organizations, and businesses to advocate for Indigenous rights and interests;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on program outcomes and impact.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field;
  • Provincial certification as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or equivalent experience;
  • At least 2 years of experience working in community development, social work, or a related field;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
