Autism Intervention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Autism Intervention Specialist to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young children with autism and their families.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical intervention services to preschool-age children with autism, working closely with families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans. The role requires a strong understanding of evidence-based interventions and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical assessment and goal-setting with families related to identified needs for their child;
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized intervention programs;
- Contribute to family education and participate in quality improvement initiatives;
- Supervise Program Implementers as needed;
- Work within a variety of intervention frameworks, including manualized caregiver-mediated programs and focused interventions guided by care pathways;
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). A valid Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle are also required. At least two years of recent experience working with children with autism and their families is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent time management and organization abilities, are necessary for success in this position.

CompensationThe salary for this role is approximately $41.30 - $49.05 per hour, based on designation. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a range of benefits, including enhanced wellness programs, recognition and reward opportunities, and support for career development.
