About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Mental Health & Addictions Manager, the Clinical Interventionist takes primary responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of clinical treatment programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Clinical Interventionist will collaborate with members of the team and community partners/organizations to provide a holistic, client/family-centered approach. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and standards, as well as collaborating with the Department of Mental Health & Addictions and Nova Scotia Health.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience, with extensive experience working with children with behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ASD. Key qualifications include knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD, expertise with the DSM-IV diagnostic system, and experience with case management, behavioral management, and psychological testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical treatment programs for children with ASD
  • Collaborate with team members and community partners to provide a holistic approach
  • Ensure compliance with relevant acts, regulations, and standards
  • Provide supervision and leadership to team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration/licensure with the appropriate professional regulatory organization

  • Knowledge of best practices in intervention for young children with ASD
