About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Student to join our team in the Atlantic District, Canadian Buildings Division. As an Engineering Student, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects and gain valuable experience in a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections and deficiency walks to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and supervise sub-trade work to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Take and coordinate progress photos to track project progress.
  • Track site progress and deficiencies to identify areas for improvement.
  • Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate, mark up, and update drawings to reflect changes and updates.
  • Coordinate work-specific scope and trades to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Conduct trade quote reviews to verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
  • Input and update deficiency logs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform quantity take-offs to ensure accurate project estimates.
  • Produce as-built drawings to document project completion.
  • Set up and maintain record-keeping systems to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Requirements
  • Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering-related field.
  • A passion for working in a construction environment.
  • Experience with various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
  • Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
  • Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
