About the Role

The Lead Principal Product Owner is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing products that meet customer needs and drive business goals. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop product roadmaps, prioritize features, and ensure successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance.
  • Plan, execute, and manage the domains product's development throughout its lifecycle.
  • Define the conception, development, and implementation of a product.
  • Enhance user experience by improving usability, accessibility, and desirability of a design solution.
  • Support the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximize operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
  • Identify, engage, and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritize work effort and resources accordingly.
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate workshops using storytelling to connect, influence, and engage the audience.
  • Define value drivers and determine the boundaries of an opportunity to determine if it is worth further investment.
  • Source information, plan, and conduct analysis to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, or trade equivalent.
  • A high degree of business acumen with deep understanding of project execution risks and strong experience with vendor and contract management practices & processes.
  • Deep understanding of the requirements to effectively manage the end-to-end lifecycle of product(s).
  • Experience with underground communications, technology infrastructure & mining systems.
  • Experience with technology service management frameworks.
  • Understanding of agile & waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience leading teams and creating an environment of trust and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) across relevant stakeholders to provide quick and accurate responses to all queries and relevant support as required.
