The role of a Healthcare Support Specialist at Saige Homecare is vital for individuals requiring assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. In addition to providing caregiving services, our team members offer companionship, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.

As a Care Companion with Saige Homecare, you will work with seniors and individuals in need of care in their own homes or facility settings. Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Providing personalized care according to the client's customized care plan.
  2. Communicating effectively with clients, office staff, and Nurse Managers.
  3. Collaborating with the client, family, and the Saige team to set and achieve common goals related to quality of life for the clients.
  4. Building strong working relationships with clients, families, and the Saige Team.
  5. Monitoring and reporting changes in health to the Nurse Managers.
The Personal Care Assistant role at Saige Homecare involves providing support in various areas, including:

Personal Care: bathing, grooming, dressing, peri care, and toileting.

Medication Administration: assisting with medication, as directed by a Nurse Manager.

Meal Planning: preparing nutritious meals for our clients.

Household Management: light housekeeping, assistance to and from appointments, and other outings.

Companionship: providing social engagement and companionship to our clients.

Requirements for Employment:
  1. Healthcare Aide Certification or equivalent education.
  2. Registration on the Alberta Healthcare Aide Directory.
  3. Valid HCP/BLS CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
  4. A Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search) dated within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain one.
  5. Drivers License and willingness to drive from home to home.
