About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Education Specialist - Provincial Coordinator to join our team at the Alzheimer Society of B.C. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and planning a provincial community of practice (CoP) to support trainees in applying and building on their learning through our standardized dementia care training program.

You will lead the development of an online learning centre to facilitate peer support and ongoing opportunities for professional development and training, as well as create supplementary learning resources, microlearning opportunities, and coordinate phone and email support to program trainees.

This is a three-year grant-funded term position with potential for extension. The salary range for this role is $73,000 to $77,000 per year, and it comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible work environment options, generous paid time off, and employee health benefits.

To be successful in this role, you will need a post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience in public health, education, gerontology, social work, or a related field. You should have 3-5 years of experience designing and developing online learning and training programs, preferably in a non-profit or health-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and flexibility to travel occasionally and work evenings or weekends as needed. They should also have experience working with people living with dementia or older adults, knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and the seniors' services sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the healthcare provider community of practice
  • Create innovative microlearning opportunities to enhance trainee engagement and continued learning
  • Design and deliver online adult education and training programs, including best practices in knowledge translation, adult learning, and engagement
  • Collaborate with other teams to optimize deliverables and reach
  • Provide email and phone support to program trainees
  • Develop and document procedures for responding to trainee email and phone support requests
