Healthcare Provider Education Specialist

About the Position
The Healthcare Provider Education Specialist supports the organization's capacity to deliver standardized U-First healthcare provider training across the province to enhance the skills and knowledge of person-centered care practices among workers in long-term care. This role is responsible for providing training, coaching, and support to healthcare provider education facilitators, ensuring the seamless and effective delivery of the Society's training program to a healthcare audience.
This position reports to the Manager, Healthcare Provider Education Delivery. The contract is full-time, with 35 hours worked per week.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate required training and ongoing opportunities for professional development, coaching, and support to enhance the knowledge and skills of the organization's healthcare education facilitators.
- Facilitate external train-the-trainer workshops to enhance healthcare providers' capacity to deliver U-First training within their organizations, as well as facilitating the standardized U-First training for healthcare providers.
- Develop systems and processes for scheduling and monitoring staff participation and progress through mandatory facilitator training components and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Provincial Coordinator, Healthcare Community of Practice to ensure alignment between the provincial community of practice deliverables and goals of the education program.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of the healthcare provider education program, ensuring compliance with evaluation and statistics procedures.
- Support awareness of the healthcare provider education program for the healthcare sector through various outreach and awareness activities, including networking, attending events, and developing content for the Society's publications, website, and other communication channels.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or relevant degree in healthcare, social work, education, gerontology, or another related field.
- Background in healthcare, social work, gerontology, or a related field, with experience in adult education, group facilitation, and coaching professionals to achieve their goals.
- Strong organizational abilities, enabling you to manage training programs, support professional development, and ensure program objectives are met.
- Experience working within the health or social care sector with people living with dementia and/or their caregivers; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Benefits:*
- Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
