Healthcare Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Education Specialist to join our team at the Alzheimer Society of B.C. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive healthcare education program focused on Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
About the PositionThis is a three-year grant-funded term position with potential for extension. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and delivering educational programs, particularly in online formats. You will work closely with our health-care provider education Master Trainers to ensure alignment between program deliverables and goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the healthcare provider community of practice, ensuring continuous learning and peer support programs for workers in long-term care.
- Create innovative microlearning opportunities to enhance trainee engagement and continued learning, such as short videos, online posts, newsletter articles, or emailed content.
- Design ongoing opportunities for trainee peer support and connection, including online peer connection meetings, moderated discussion boards, and in-person networking events.
- Establish systems for measuring engagement and utilization of community of practice deliverables and collaborate with other teams to optimize deliverables and reach.
- A post-secondary education or relevant degree in public health, education, gerontology, social work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing and developing online learning and training programs, preferably in a non-profit or health-oriented environment.
- Experience working with people living with dementia or older adults in a non-profit environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and the seniors' services sector is an asset.
We offer a competitive salary range of $73,000 to $77,000 per year, based on experience. Other benefits include:
