Salary: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
Actual pay rate will be based on individual candidate's credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.
Job Description
Position Summary:
As a Senior Pharmacy Specialist, you will ensure that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care, ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients. With professional knowledge, experience, and a compassionate nature, you will bring a specialized approach to our team and clients.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Dispensing prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data, and clinical reviews
- Providing professional functions related to dispensing, including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, professional opinions, liaising with other healthcare professionals, and documenting interventions and dialogue
- Supervising and leading the dispensary while on duty
- Evaluating the appropriateness of prescription orders with consideration for patient safety and legal requirements
- Completing third-party adjudications necessary to complete prescriptions
- Coordinating and supervising non-sterile compounding and dispensing of drugs according to medication orders issued by authorized medical care providers and responsible for timely processing of medication orders and distribution of medications
- Blister pack checking and pouch packaging dispensing system checking
- Maintaining confidentiality and protecting personal and organizational information at all times
- Working collaboratively and supporting efforts of team members
- Participating in an on-call rotation
- Willingsness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction
- Setting high standards of performance for self and others
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- Experience with KROLL Pharmacy software an asset
- Injection Certified
