About the Role

This Laboratory Assistant position is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the laboratory with specimen triaging, accessioning, and processing. You will also be responsible for performing basic routine procedures according to established protocols. Your excellent communication and teamwork skills will enable you to work effectively with colleagues and provide outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the laboratory with sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens.
  • Perform basic routine procedures according to established protocols.
  • Conduct phlebotomies according to departmental policy.
  • Maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba Standards, is required.
  • Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant program is preferred.
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification is preferred.

About Shared Health

Shared Health is responsible for leading the planning and coordination of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. Our organization delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is between $22,995 and $27,461 per year, based on the industry standards and location. This range may vary depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
