Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team as a Mental Health Nurse Specialist. This role involves providing professional nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Services include independent nursing care, administration of interventions and treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients with complex health needs
  • Administer interventions and treatments as prescribed
  • Lead the healthcare team in providing patient care
  • Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse with recent mental health experience
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses/Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice
  • Knowledge of Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients
  • Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes
