Counter Salesperson Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Counter Salesperson to join our team at EMCO Corporation, a leading national wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products. As a Counter Salesperson, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and maintaining a clean counter sales area.

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and contributing to the success of our Profit Centre counters. As a Counter Salesperson, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers who purchase material at the Profit Centre counters
  • Researching product for customers and providing recommendations on our assortment of products
  • Driving sales growth through ownership of counter merchandising, product promotion, and generating leads for the Outside Account Manager while networking with customers at the counter
  • Entering, picking, and packing sales orders generated at the counter
  • Maintaining and cleaning the counter area, including any merchandising displays
  • Informing the buyer when stock levels are low
  • Following up on backorders with vendors and providing customers with accurate delivery dates
  • Processing returns and warranty claims to customers, both on account and cash sales, including paperwork in compliance with all procedures
  • Navigating and finding solutions for customer concerns and complaints

Requirements

To be successful as a Counter Salesperson at EMCO Corporation, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment
