Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is for an Instructor - Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) at Alberta Hospital Edmonton (AHE). As a CNE, you will play a key role in promoting standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-informed practice. You will take a leadership role in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education for nursing staff, including orientation, compulsory, and continuing education, and clinical development.

You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote clinical competence and provide safe, quality patient-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. This role requires strong collaborative and interpersonal skills as well as excellence in written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver educational material based on best practice.
  2. Deliver orientation and annual education to clinical staff.
  3. Support in-patient and community/residential programs with guidance to ensure patient safety and adherence to Recovery Alberta/AHS policies.
  4. Promote clinical competence of staff through resource support.
  5. Collaborate on projects and other educational and site endeavors.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing required.
  • 3-5 years recent experience in clinical (non-patient) education required.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
