Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Garage Door Technician Assistant to join our team at Overhead Door Corporation. As a key member of our installation crew, you will assist in the service and installation of overhead doors, working closely with our experienced technicians to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and service of overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, and high-speed doors
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating hinges and checking door alignment
  • Operate hand tools, electric tools, and ladders safely and efficiently
  • Interact with warehouse staff, construction project managers, customers, and other trades personnel to ensure smooth operations
  • Take direction from lead technicians and provide support as needed
  • Participate in learning the trade and advancing to a lead technician role
  • Perform general warehouse duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-6 months' experience in a relevant trade (construction, welding, millwright)
  • Resourcefulness, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Possess a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Any relevant safety training and tickets (WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid) is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements, including drug, alcohol, and health assessment
