St.Amant is seeking a Counsellor to support the Jordan's Principle initiative, ensuring access to health and social services for children with disabilities in their community. The successful candidate will provide services in accordance with St.Amant's Mission and Values, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and family/group counselling services to clients in accordance with St.Amant's policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with clients, caregivers, and families to identify and address their needs.
- Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement service and program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline from a recognized university.
- Previous counselling experience, including individual work with children and adults.
- Knowledge of community resources and how to make use of them.
- Ability to identify high-risk situations and respond appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, caregivers, and families, to supervise and teach others, and to work harmoniously with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within Indigenous communities/cultures is an asset.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous culture and language would be an asset.
