Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services designed to empower women in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To function as a role model, guide, counsellor, and advocate to assist residents in recognizing their current needs and goals, making informed decisions, and developing healthy relationships.
  • To work collaboratively with families to confront and overcome conditions that have contributed to personal difficulties, promoting self-awareness, self-worth, and increased independence.
  • To provide comprehensive knowledge and skills as a counsellor and advocate, ensuring the highest level of support and care for our clients.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years' related experience, preferably with a background in human services or a related field.
  • S.W. preferred or Applied Counselling Certificate, with a strong understanding of Indigenous culture and customs, community needs, and Indigenous Women's issues.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of an Indigenous language is considered a definite asset.
  • Mandatory Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry, and Criminal Record Check.
