Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Culture Specialist to join our team at the Indigenous Women's Healing Centre. As a key member of our North Star Lodge team, you will provide culturally sensitive supports and guidance to our residents.

Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will function as a role model and provide access to Ceremonies. You will also conduct or assist in Sweats, Teaching Circles, and other Healing Ceremonies, utilizing your knowledge of culturally relevant approaches and practices.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience and community recognition as a cultural resource.
  • Must have previous experience in providing cultural supports, including conducting or assisting in Sweats, Teaching Circles, and various Healing Ceremonies.
  • Knowledge of culturally relevant approaches and practices is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a service team is essential.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety.
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is a definite asset.
  • Driver's license is required.
