SIU Investigator - Part-Time Position

The SIU department at Xpera Atténuation Des Risques Et Enquêtes is seeking a part-time SIU Investigator to join our team in the Kingston, Ontario area. As a leading national investigation and risk mitigation firm, we require a skilled investigator to provide investigative services, technical expertise, and support to our clients nationally.

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of investigative experience, ideally in regulatory, workplace investigations, insurance claims, and theft investigations. They will possess knowledge of legal processes and evidence collection, as well as post-secondary education or equivalency in training. Computer literacy and the ability to learn new programs are essential, along with a valid Ontario Private Investigators license and willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations, gathering and analyzing evidence to provide solid conclusions and recommendations.
  • Prepare and conduct recorded interviews, handling difficult conversations and confrontation with professionalism and tact.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and support to facilitate resolution of meritorious matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry developments, applying knowledge to investigations and providing expert opinions.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of investigative experience in regulatory, workplace investigations, insurance claims, and theft investigations.
  • Knowledge of legal processes and evidence collection.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalency in training.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new programs.
  • Valid Ontario Private Investigators license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Active listening and summarizing evidence and analytical assessments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Above-average analytical and report writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
