SIU Investigator - Part-Time Position

Xpera Atténuation Des Risques Et Enquêtes is a leading national investigation and risk mitigation firm seeking a skilled SIU Investigator to join our team in Kingston, Ontario.

The SIU department provides investigative services, technical expertise, and is a resource for clients nationally. Our vision is to deliver world-class performance and technical expertise dedicated to the appropriate investigation consistent with the highest standards of professional, ethical, and legal conduct.

This is a casual position with fluctuating hours based on workload and time of year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 15+ years of investigative experience in Regulatory, Workplace Investigations, Insurance Claims, and Theft Investigations
  • Consideration will also be given to those with significant expertise in one line of business based on experience
  • Knowledge of legal processes and evidence collection
  • Post-secondary education or equivalency in training
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new programs
  • Possess a valid Ontario Private Investigators license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid Driver's license; Reliable vehicle and clean driving record

Required Skills:

  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Practiced in active listening and summarizing evidence and analytical assessments in order to provide solid and supportable conclusions/actions when required
  • Experienced in preparing and conducting recorded interviews
  • Ability to professionally and tactfully handle difficult conversations and confrontation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Above average analytical and report writing skills
  • Comfortable with discussing and providing solutions or recommendations to clients
  • Reading and understanding regulations/policies and applying them to investigations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French
