Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Recreation Therapist I, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic recreation services to patients in long-term care and inpatients awaiting placement.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community partners to provide evidence-based therapeutic recreation programming. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and evaluating progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for patients
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Assess and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field and be registered with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Additionally, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,111 - $97,293 per year, depending on experience. This includes benefits such as health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
