Job Title: Application Support Engineer

Veridos is a leading provider of identity solutions for governments around the world. We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our team in Markham, Canada.

About the Role:

The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our software applications. This includes troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, configuring client setups, and performing unit, system testing, and user acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for software applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Configure client setups
  • Perform unit, system testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Package and support deployment or releases to production systems and end-point client terminals
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support and coverage for applications and other software
  • Interface with development manager and project manager for status and progress updates
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time and per quoted work effort
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of software development experience in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of one or more object-oriented programming languages, specifically Java and C#
  • 2+ years of knowledge and experience of MS SQL (stored procedures, functions, queries)
  • Excellent understanding of various file formats and software integration
  • Ability to troubleshoot at the system level, network, hardware, software, OS, etc.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects
  • Must be able to work against deadlines and outside regular office hours when necessary
  • Must be willing to travel to regional offices, global production sites to provide support and coverage
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or another closely related field
