Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and supporting our Personal Support Workers (PSWs) and Healthcare Support Workers (HSWs) in providing exceptional care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support PSWs and HSWs to ensure they comply with legislated standards of practice, company policies, and procedures.
- Respond to concerns from community staff, patients/families, and team members, and advise/resolve issues as needed.
- Provide ongoing leadership through regular meetings, huddles, and one-on-ones.
- Initiate patient safety incident investigations, document timelines, and implement action plans.
- Work collaboratively with nursing team members to support clinical documentation and submission requirements according to specific funder reporting guidelines.
- Engage patients in problem-solving using a collaborative approach, offering health teaching, building rapport, and trust to identify patient healthcare needs, strengths, capacities, and goals.
- Engage staff in problem-solving, offering education, coaching, and mentoring in resolving problems.
- Maintain knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service in all areas of practice by staying up-to-date with changes in practice settings that affect scope of practice.
Requirements
- Current RN or RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, entitled to practice without restrictions.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a practicing Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse.
- Comprehensive patient health assessment skills are required.
- Possess an understanding of the principles of community nursing practice.
