We are seeking a talented Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare.
Job Description
As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, working in accordance with established policies, physician orders, and the resident plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s), utilizing sound nursing practice principles.
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Ensure the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, adhering to protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide individualized care to residents.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reports, as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the ongoing development of our care services.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Compassionate and effective interpersonal skills.
- Awareness of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant legislation.
- Medical clearance, including tuberculosis tests.
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Clear Criminal Record check.
- All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination and adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols.
