Illustration System Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Illustration System Analyst to join our team at Equitable Life of Canada. As a key member of our Individual Product Development & Marketing department, you will be responsible for supporting the development and testing of our complex illustration software system.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematical sciences, preferably with a degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics. 3+ years of experience in software development and testing is also essential. Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Access, is required. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills are also necessary.

As an Illustration System Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development of highly technical specifications for illustration software to support new products/product enhancements.
  • Maintaining detailed calculation specifications and testing tools for life and health insurance products.
  • Ensuring illustration software calculations are consistent with policy administration systems.
  • Conducting regular reviews of software applications to ensure they meet business and administration requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting testing of software –including system functionality, regression, calculation, and installation testing.

You will work closely with our external vendors and internal business resources to deliver high-quality results within project timelines. Your ability to make recommendations for the effective design of software to support products, while ensuring data integrity, is crucial to this role.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a hybrid role that requires working in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.
